BREAKING NEWS: Aiken County teachers need your help now more than ever!
CAN YOU HELP PROVIDE LEARNING TOOLS
FOR OUR TEACHERS & CLASSROOMS?
Each year, Aiken County schoolteachers count on the Aiken Standard. Many teachers build a concise curriculum around using the newspaper as a resource. The newspaper has become a valuable learning tool in the classroom through the national Newspapers In Education (NIE) program.
This year’s classrooms will be different. Every step will be taken deliberately with care and concern. With your support, the Aiken Standard wants to give Aiken County teachers one less thing to worry about.
Our goal is to provide K-12th grade teachers in Aiken County with digital access to the daily Aiken Standard and the weekly North Augusta Star.
Local newspapers promote community connection and provides a trusted tool to use in lesson plans on English, geography, civics, math, science, social studies, language arts and more! I’ve heard of students learning to budget grocery shopping by using newspaper sales circulars too – practical everyday tools.
UNLIMITED DIGITAL ACCESS FOR 1,500 TEACHERS HAS COSTS.
YOUR SUPPORT IS CRUCIAL.
